Payment Solutions/Collections Specialist: Are you a self-starter who enjoys working with people? We are looking for an empathetic problem solver to join our Payment Solutions team.
The Payment Solutions Specialist works with members to develop payment plans and provide creative solutions to collect on overdue accounts when possible.
The Payment Solutions Specialist is responsible for the control of late and/or delinquent loan accounts, negative accounts, and charge-offs.
They provide timely, courteous, and empathetic service and account information to members in person, over the phone, online (email/texts), and by mail.
They interview members to determine the reason for the negative balance and/or delinquency, advise regarding financial obligations, and offer suggestions about the best course of action.
This position requires a strong knowledge of collections processes (including bankruptcies, repossessions, legal actions, loan extension/modifications, and collateral protection), effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and self-awareness to understand and empathize with members while recognizing and managing personal emotions in a positive way.
