Position Description The primary responsibility of the AP Specialist will be to assist the accounting team by ensuring the proper and accurate entry and coding of accounting-related transactions, invoices, expense reports, and the timely submission of vendor invoices and payments.
The AP Specialist will work with the other members of the accounting team to accomplish operational goals while maintaining quality and efficiencies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Monitor and manage vendor invoices payments, including checking records in the system, scheduling recurring, payments, and identifying discounts, if possible.
Enter Invoices into accounting system and verify information Prepare manual checks daily.
Manages documentation and post payments to the accounting system.
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience Associate degree in business, accounting, or finance.
Recent relevant experience can substitute for educational requirement.
Knowledge of basic accounting (Accounts Payable) Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments with deadlines.
Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the company, and with vendors and customers.
Ability to uphold and maintain discretion and care regarding confidential and sensitive personnel and company information.
Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the function of the position.
Ability to follow procedures in accordance with audit.
