*Job Description:*
*Seasonal Feed Mill Operator – Union:*
* Operate all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
* Adhere to CHS’ quality assurance program regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
* Perform necessary sequencing, recording, and documenting of all feed manufactured during shift.
* Maintain accurate production and FDA records, entering data into Excel spreadsheet.
* Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality.
* Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for both ingredients and finished products.
* Determine proper routing and distribution for manufactured feeds to appropriate holding bins.
* Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
* Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
* Provide excellent customer service and assist customers when needed.
* Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures, adhere to all safety & FDA requirements.
* Effectively communicate with managers, co-workers, and customers.
* Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned.
*Other Notes:*
* No experience required - training provided.
* Ability to lift 55+ lbs.
* Comfortable in dusty & dry conditions
* Either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
* Primarily monitoring in the control room.
The systems are automated so making sure they are running correctly.
* Computer skills are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general labor tasks as assigned
- Assist with the assembly and fabrication of products
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete tasks
- Load and unload materials from trucks or other vehicles
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures
- Operate a forklift to move materials within the warehouse
Experience:
- Previous experience in a laborer or similar role preferred
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions or blueprints is beneficial
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
