ESGW Direct Support Professional (DSP’s) provide positive engaged support to individuals, to assure the needs of each person are met in their self-directed, day-to-day life according to their individual plan of care and their personal dreams and goals, including: supporting each person’s right to make their own choices without judgement, activities of daily life, health and wellness, leisure, medication, hygiene, safety, personal goals, self-help skills, communication, self-advocacy, transportation, adventures, exploration and enhancement of quality of life as they move to live as independently as possible.
The DSP – Janitorial Supervisor leads a team of clients to ensure the ESGW janitorial contracts expectations are met and the contracting organizations are satisfied with the crew’s performance.
This emphasis on empowerment and participation for people served is critical.
DSP’s should follow the individual path suggested by the unique gifts, preferences, and needs of each person they support, and to walk in partnership with the person, and those who are significant to them, toward a life of opportunity, well-being, freedom, and contribution.
The DSP – Janitorial Supervisor will provide mentoring, training and guidance with the intent of providing new skills and achieving a new level of independence for the individuals who serve as part of the crew.
DSP’s must exemplify ethical practice, high standards, and creative vision as they partner with those they support in order to access opportunities and resources in the ‘able community’ and make everyday choices about their personal finances, physical well-being, social and intimate relationships, and employment.
Requirements Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification, Medication Assistance Training, and MANDT certification Self-motivated Reliable and dependable Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather Valid driver’s license and clear driving record Provide proof of vehicle insurance Must be able to drive multi-passenger vehicles for extended periods throughout the day.
Must be well-groomed and pleasant with the public Must be able to work in a variety of environments including outdoors and in vehicles Regular and punctual attendance Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand and walk at an assigned location(s) and work for extended periods of time; bend/stoop, kneel and balance frequently; climb, reach above shoulder level; push/pull, squat and crouch occasionally; with assistance, lift, carry and position individuals of various weight.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and be able to reach for items from overhead or lift items off of the floor.
Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements.
All positions require the completion of a background check.

Experience High School/Equivalent 0-2 years Experience working with individuals with disabilities/aging, special education, personal care preferred.
