Duties:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Assist with mobility and transfers of patients.
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing, such as urine or blood samples.
- Perform basic medical procedures, such as catheter care and phlebotomy.
- Assist with medical documentation and maintaining patient records.
- Monitor patients' physical and mental well-being.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a nursing assistant or completion of a nursing assistant training program.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology.
- Ability to perform tasks such as venipuncture, catheterization, and patient assessment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in patient care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina to lift and move patients as needed.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients.
