Position Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) role will be filled by a Registered Nurse (RN) who will assume a managerial position and take responsibility for the nursing care within our healthcare facility.
The DON manages staff, has budgeting responsibilities, participates in recruitment activities, and carries out disciplinary actions when required.
As a Director of Nursing, you will ensure the facility or department is up to standard and follows relevant policies and guidelines.
Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities:
Organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, and facility guidelines.
Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPNs, others).
Guide staffing procedures within the facility.
Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department.
Develop and enforce policies related to legal compliance and high quality of care.
Oversee budgets and monitor expenditures.
Director of Nursing (DON) Requirements/Qualifications:
Must have a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Montana and current/active CPR certification.
Previous experience in a supervisory role in a nursing care facility preferred, however, consideration will be given to strong candidates without such experience.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet, and Intranet navigation.
Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
