We are seeking someone to be part of our in-house Legal team specializing in the law relating to e-commerce and the internet, with a particular emphasis on software development, exploitation and protection of software, online gaming, digital rights management and distribution and related general commercial matters [based in the Isle of Man or Malta].
This role with partner with and advise business teams globally with an emphasis on negotiation of commercial transactions.
Duties and responsibilities would include:
• Drafting and reviewing a variety of commercial agreements such as software licences, gaming licence agreements, non-disclosure agreements and services agreements and any other legal documentation as necessary, as well as the handling of negotiations pertaining thereto.
• Involvement and timely progression of ongoing commercial contracts and negotiations.
• Dealing with any post-contractual legal issues that may arise.
• Reviewing and advising the business on the entry into terms and conditions with third parties.
• Advising on various legal matters, as necessary, such as general contract law, topical legal issues and handling legal aspects of multiple projects undertaken by the business.
• Assisting Senior Counsel where required.
• Support the development and delivery of training to the business to manage legal risks.
• Assisting with updating and creating precedents.
• Qualified solicitor/advocate with 0-5 years PQE either in-house or within a private practice law firm.
• Experience gained in the online gaming industry / sports betting / technology sector would be an additional benefit, but is not essential.
• Self-driven and able to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion, prioritizing workload accordingly.
