Rainbow triple purpose sheep starter flock looking for new pastures.
Meat, wool AND milk!
1 reg Finnsheep Ram (black piebald)
1 reg Finnsheep Ewe (brown)
2 FinnXEast Fresians.
1 ewe and 1 whether, both white.
(The X ewe has the absolute cutest face!)
Finnsheep can be bred out of season so you could breed the X ewe now for spring lambs/milk and breed the Finn for fall- hello year round milk! Use the weather to keep your ram sane (or whichever ewe isn’t with the ram if you stagger breed).
Finns have LOVELY wool and are known for their sweet temperament.
They’ll do anything for treats and are easy to train to milk.
Crossing with East fresians hasn’t hurt milk production and has improved the EF wool quality by a long ways.
This ram, Massey, is very easy to manage.
He doesn’t butt us (but he is a ram, always use caution) and his dad is QR for scrapie resistance and has brought improved parasite resistance to our flock.
He’s one of my favorite sheep and I’m only selling him (any of them) because I’d like to replace my old dairy cow.
Sheep’s milk tastes way better than goat milk (in most people’s opinions: ) and is often much sweeter than cows milk and more mineral rich.
The cream does separate and we make butter with it as well as cheese, yogurt etc! 🥳🧈
We raise our sheep basically organic, on rotated pasture, hay and organic alfalfa pellets without chemicals and with free choice ABC minerals + kelp.
For now, I’d like them to go together, because well, one won’t get me another cow.
😆 Located in Fort Shaw, delivery might be available in GF/Helena area : )
