The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following: SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinator shall develop, execute and manage a comprehensive religious education program for the military members and their dependents of MAFB to include, but not limited to, coordination of all Religious Education program planning, events, Bible studies, VBS, holiday events and annual budget, as well as directing full spectrum religious education programs for all ages; serving as liaison between parish program leaders and the Wing Chaplain or designated chaplain.

1 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The Protestant Religious Education Coordinator shall: - Possess familiarity with general Protestant doctrine, teachings, rites, and worship styles.
- Possess program management and Windows-based computer system (i.
e.
, Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
) skills to plan, develop, coordinate, advertise, and implement a comprehensive religious education plan for MAFB.
- Personal qualifications: The coordinator shall have the ability to solicit and work harmoniously with volunteer teachers and leaders.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Or, have a minimum of two years’ experience as a Religious Education Coordinator/Religious Activities Coordinator in a military chapel, or as a civilian director of religious education or parish programming.
Equivalent work/education experience may be considered.
- In accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1402.
05, each individual working with children under the age of 18 in conjunction with this contract must successfully complete an Installation Records Check, an FBI Fingerprint Check, and a Tier 1 with Child Care Coverage check which includes a State Crime History Report.
Coordinator/ sub-coordinator failure to satisfactorily complete the criminal history background check shall result in termination of the contract.

1 Coordinator will provide a comprehensive Protestant Religious Education program, focused to meet the needs of the military servicemen and women stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base and their dependents.

1 This RE program shall include, but is not limited to, one (1) weekly Bible Study program with classes for adults and children (such as AWANA) which lasts for a minimum of 32 weekly sessions during the school year; one (1) weekly Bible Study program to provide a minimum of two (2) adult classes and age-grouped children’s classes for 50 weeks a year (commonly called “Sunday School,” however the day of the week is flexible); and Children’s Church during worship services for every Sunday of the year.
Annually, the program shall include, but is not limited to, a Children’s Christmas program, Vacation Bible School, and Lenten studies.
The coordinator serves as a resource and advisor for other Bible Studies associated with Women’s, Men’s, Youth, Children’s, and other Bible Studies.

2 Coordinator is required to complete annual privileged communication and other training given by the chapel staff.

3 Coordinator must actively participate in all Protestant planning meetings as required by the most senior protestant chaplain.

4 Coordinator shall accomplish all administrative work related to the religious education program, to include, but not limited to, initiate and maintain records, program continuity files, personnel rosters, literature displays, and required Chaplain Corps statistical reports and documentation.
Coordinator shall submit a weekly report to the designated chaplain containing attendance, program status, problems, and suggestions.

5 Coordinator shall regularly recruit volunteers for religious education to include, but not limited to, retreats, appreciation events, teachers and volunteers for religious education classes Protestant Religious Education and Bible studies.
Coordinator shall provide training programs in the area of being a volunteer in the religious education program, expectations, and policies.

6 Coordinator will recruit, nurture and train teachers and teacher’s assistants for the above programs by: 2.

1 Recruiting, training, and recognizing teachers, teacher’s assistants, and other volunteers.
Training includes regular in-service classes throughout the year in coordination with the designated chaplain.
The coordinator will need to be present at many Protestant Worship services in order to recruit volunteers from the community.

2 Ensuring all volunteers working with youth below 18 years of age receive a background check as described in DoDI 1402.

3 Meeting individually with each teacher every 90 days to assess the needs of the teachers and their students.
Dates, time and locations of these conferences are to be documented and forwarded to the designated chaplain in a timely manner.

7 Coordinator, in coordination with the designated chaplain, is responsible for planning, organizing, budgeting, implementing, and in all other ways managing the following annual events: 2.

8 Vacation Bible School (VBS) is to be held in the summer for a period of not more than five days.
VBS may be an ecumenical venture with the Catholic Parish.
Planning and leader training will be coordinated with the designated chaplain.

9 Children’s Christmas program to include recruitment, preparation, organization, publicity, rehearsals, and final performance.

10 Coordinator will perform other services in order to ensure the quality of the Protestant Religious Education program.

1 Prepare an annual religious education calendar to be submitted by the deadline given by the designated chaplain for annual chapel planning conference and incorporation into the Chapel Airmen Ministry Plan.
The calendar should include all special religious education events for the entire year such as training sessions, workshops, socials, appreciations and graduation.

2 Prepare an annual religious education budget for submission by the deadline given by the designated chaplain, taking into account all requirements for appropriated as well as non-appropriated chaplain fund support.

3 Accomplish and monitor the annual curriculum materials ordered for, but not limited to, Sunday School, Children’s Church, Awana, Vacation Bible School, and other Bible Studies, and insure necessary materials are available for the teachers in a timely manner.

4 Accomplish all clerical work relating to the Religious Education program, including maintaining accurate registration and attendance records of all volunteers and students participating in the program in accordance with DoDI, Air Force Instructions (AFI), and local OI regulations.

5 Submit a weekly Religious Education Report to the designated chaplain providing attendance figures, program status, problems, and suggestions.

6 Submit properly completed funds requests to procure all supplies and equipment required to support the Religious Education program in accordance with local operating instructions.

7 Coordinator shall organize at least two volunteer training events each year: one in the fall, one in the spring.
The training events will be for all teachers and substitute teachers.

11 The Contracting Officer Representative shall approve any and all sub-contracted coordinators prior to use and shall be notified at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled activity.

12 Coordinator shall work with the Contracting Officer Representative to resolve all job related issues and conflicts.
This positions is approximately 1020 hours yearly.
