SUMMARY - Teaches one or more subjects to students in public or private secondary schools by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Adapts Science material and methods to develop relevant-sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils.
Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate to the interest and maturity level of pupils; maintains required inventory records.
Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
Develops standards for critical analysis through group discussions based on a variety of mass media.
Encourages pupils to think independently and to express original ideas.
Evaluates each pupil's progress in Social Studies skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
Keeps attendance records.
Maintains discipline in classroom.
Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
Provides individual or small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils and to accommodate circumstances where a variety of projects and experiments are being worked on simultaneously.
Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling student in adjustment and academic problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Adapts Science material and methods to develop relevant-sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils.
Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate to the interest and maturity level of pupils; maintains required inventory records.
Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
Develops standards for critical analysis through group discussions based on a variety of mass media.
Encourages pupils to think independently and to express original ideas.
Evaluates each pupil's progress in Social Studies skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
Keeps attendance records.
Maintains discipline in classroom.
Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
Provides individual or small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils and to accommodate circumstances where a variety of projects and experiments are being worked on simultaneously.
Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling student in adjustment and academic problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree (B.

LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format and to effectively present information to administration, public groups, and/or board of trustees.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS - The work environment for instructors has increasingly become technology driven.

REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
