The Instruction and Reference Librarian is responsible for providing access for library users to electronic and print information.
The Librarian is responsible for the Reference department and teaches and assists students, faculty, staff, and community members to find information in one-on-one, distance and group settings.
The Librarian is a liaison for the library with assigned departments on campus and with other libraries.

Participate in library assessment efforts 9.

May hire, train and supervise student assistants or subordinate staff members.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Masters of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited program Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Library work experience in higher education settings Instruction experience Demonstrated use of effective, innovative practices in a library setting Excellent communication skills The Successful Candidate Will • Have a team-oriented attitude • Demonstrate commitment to valuing equity, diversity, and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment • Represent the library and the university in a professional manner • Demonstrate effective time management skill and ability to meet deadlines Special Requirements Physical Demands Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodations, and Must be able to demonstrate various machines to faculty, students, staff, and other clients; Must be able to lift and move 35 pounds from different types and levels of shelving; Must be able to work while standing for long periods of time; This position requires working in a dusty environment at times.

Title IX Coordinator The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX.
The Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with the University’s Discrimination and Grievance Policy.
Specifically, the Title IX Coordinator: Coordinates educational programs and trainings regarding discrimination and harassment prevention for students and employees; Responds to and seeks to resolve reports of discrimination and harassment following the Procedures; Provides information about and, if requested, assists with criminal reporting; Provides information about resources for obtaining advocacy, healthcare, and counseling services; and Coordinates supportive and protective measures for members of the MSUN community.
