PROVOST AND VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The University of Providence seeks applications and nominations of outstanding candidates for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
The successful candidate will be a person with strong commitment to furthering the University’s distinctive academic mission as informed by the sponsorship of the Sisters of Providence.
The successful candidate will strengthen the academic programming through strategic program development and the formation of productive partnerships.
The University of Providence is a four-year, private, Catholic liberal arts university offering both face-to-face and online programs, with its main campus located on 44 park-like acres in Great Falls, Montana, within driving distance to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
Founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1932, the University is a ministry of Providence Health System with a strong commitment to the liberal arts and sciences as well as the delivery of academic programs to address current and future workforce needs for the healthcare industry.
As an expression of the teaching mission of Jesus Christ, the mission of the University of Providence is to provide students with the opportunity to obtain a liberal education for living and for making a living.
The Provost is responsible for the academic budget, leadership of the faculty, and academic program development including community outreach programs, oversight of institutional accreditation, and promoting scholarly and creative activities.
The Provost will be involved in creating and deepening “high impact” practices that engage students.
This included common learning experiences, undergraduate research, study abroad, internships, capstone experiences, and critical thinking.
The Provost reports directly to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Council.
The Dean of the School of Health Professions, Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dean of Student Success, Registrar, Director of Institutional Research, Director of Instructional Design, and the Director of the Writing Center report to the Provost.
Working collegially with internal and external stakeholders of the University, the Provost will strengthen and enhance the stature of the academic programs at the University of Providence.
An earned doctorate from an accredited college or university is required.
A practicing Catholic is strongly preferred.
