General Purpose
Safely and efficiently operate Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) insulated tank trailers to transport raw milk from farm or depot to plant.
Drive over a variety of streets, highways and rural access roads.
The driver must follow the dispatch schedule and directions from dispatch and location supervisory personnel.
Drivers are required to take quality and control samples at farm, measure the milk loaded into trailers, and minimize the truck idle times and conserve fuel consumption.
We expect our drivers to maintain positive communications with their supervisors, while representing the DFA values in a positive and professional manner.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT, DFA Commercial Motor Vehicle, and safety policies
Some strenuous work involving lifting, connecting hoses, disconnecting hoses
Ladder climbing to access the top of tank trailers and farm tanks
Hooking and unhooking trucks and trailers
Maintain positive communications with producers, customers, and employees
Represents DFA positively and professionally in our communities
Licensing and Certification
Class A CDL in state of residence
Must have, or be able to obtain, a tanker endorsement
Education and Experience
High school or equivalent preferred
Diploma or GED preferred
1 year of experience for CDL driving
Tractor/trailer: 1 year (Required)
Requirements:
Must have a current CDL (Class A) with Doubles/Triples in state of residence
Must meet clean driving record (MVR) and pre-employment background requirements
Must have, or be able to obtain, a tanker endorsement
Must be at least 21 years of age
An acceptable Motor Vehicle Report is required and must have a minimum of 1-year recent tractor/trailer experience
Must meet all DOT requirements
DFA will not consider applicants who have incurred a DUI related conviction during the 7-year period preceding the date of application.
