Part-Time Transportation/Removal Assistant

The Transportation Assistant is an ambassador of our business and regularly interacts with the public on our behalf by creating a seamless and meaningful experience for the families that have placed their trust in us.
The position is part-time and responsible for assisting with the transfer of deceased from place of death to the funeral home from 5:30 p.
m.
to 8:00 a.
m.
on scheduled days Monday through Saturday.
Occasional on call for the entire day on Sunday from 8:30 a.
m.
to 8:00 a.
m.
on Monday morning.
Schnider and O’Connor Funeral Homes are in beautiful Great Falls, Montana.
Annually, Schnider Funeral Home serves over 500 families and O’Connor Funeral Home serves over 275 families.
_ *Primary Duties/Responsibilities:* ● _Assist with the transfer of the deceased from place of death to funeral home.
_ ● _On call several evenings per week for the removal and/or transfer of the deceased.
_ ● _Complete annual OSHA training as assigned.
_ *Required Skills/Abilities:* ● _Ability to identify clients' emotional state and meet them where they are.
_ ● _Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
_ ● _Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
_ ● _Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
_ ● _Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
_ ● _Ability to work in a position of trust where information shared to us by our clients is kept confidential and not shared to the public.
_ *Education and Experience:* ● _High school diploma or equivalent.
_ ● _Valid Montana Drivers License and able to be insured under our insurance policy.
_ ● _Willingness to become certified as a crematory operator.
_ ● _At least two years related experience is preferred.
_ *Physical Requirements:* ● _Must be at least 18 years of age_ ● _Must present a clean, neat and professional appearance.
_ ● _Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
_ ● _Must be vaccinated for Hepatitis B or sign a declination statement.
_ ● _Must be able to safely use personal protective equipment in a hospital-like setting.
_ *Supervisory Responsibilities:* ● _None.
_ *Probationary Period:* ● _90 Day evaluation period.
May be extended, as necessary.
_ ● _Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and submit to a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests_.
