POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible to develop and implement activities for the purpose of increasing awareness of the dangers of Tobacco Use and encourage tobacco cessation through education among specific population areas designated by One Health.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in developing an Annual Tobacco Use Prevention Program Work Plan as directed by the Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program (MTUPP).
Develops and delivers outreach materials, educational materials, and other program content and presentations to designated counties.
Provides technical assistance and training to providers, individuals and groups of individuals to support tobacco cessation resources.
Assesses ongoing program activities to identify education and training needs.
Maintains complete, accurate, and timely documentation and recordkeeping.
Prepares and submits reports complete and on time.
Builds and maintains relationships with One Health staff, community partners, medical service providers, advocacy groups, policy makers, and the general public to build partnerships.

Conducts regular oral and written communication and presentations about tobacco use prevention goals, facts, policy advocacy, and coalition activities with One Health employees/department along with outside entities.
Participates in various committees and boards related to program activities and responsibilities; represents the agency and provides accurate information regarding tobacco use prevention resources.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other agencies, organizations, and school representatives.
Participates in phone/online consultations, on-site visits, and training and program evaluations as required.
Designs, implements, and evaluates tobacco use prevention health education promotion programs, campaign strategies, and education programs.
Produces, maintains, and submits regular statistics and program reports in accordance with grant and/or program reporting requirements.
Provides education to local coalition members and stakeholders about the program goals, evidence-based strategies, prevention and control activities, and activity evaluation in the development of annual work plans.
Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
Participates in emergency preparedness trainings, exercises, and response activities.
Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
