EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON COMPLETING AND PASSING PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Sanitarian is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the whole facility and plant.
The Sanitarian performs duties to ensure a safe and clean facility.
This position shares responsibility for maintaining Pasta Montana’s food safety, quality, and legality program under the BRC guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs duties as outlined and trained by the Sanitation Floater and Maintenance Project Lead and the Sanitation Cleaning Procedures Manual in a safe and timely manner.
Able to perform duties in a high temperature environment; temperatures range from 85 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit, with 35%-50% humidity.
Must be able to perform duties in high, tight, cramped, and dark spaces.
Understands, follows, and applies the requirements of procedures to cleaning techniques, mixing, labeling and using chemicals correctly, operation of hand and power tools, and proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
Responsible for working as an individual and working efficiently and effectively with co-workers and other departments.
Able to complete multiple tasks.
Able to comprehend and follow precise directions correctly.
Gains knowledge of and follows all food safety requirements including GMP’s, HACCP and BRC.
Applies knowledge and training to recognize and trouble-shoot problems.
Assists in the training of new employees.
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area and environment.
Communicates efficiently and effectively with all co-workers and departments.
Strives for Continuous Improvement.
Maintains equipment: proper usage, cleanliness, storage, and accountability.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Project Lead and Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education: Attended High school or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: Prior plant or commercial sanitation experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to learn and apply detailed procedures for cleaning and sanitizing, and applications of a variety of chemicals.
Good time management skills.
Able to operate a variety of hand tools, including high pressure air hoses, squeegees, scrapers, and scrubbers.
Understanding of personnel and safety standards.
Able to work and communicate effectively in a team setting or as an individual in a highly dynamic environment.
Able to learn, troubleshoot and multi-task.
Ability to use computer automated systems and software.
Must be trainable, teachable, reliable, honest, trustworthy, and motivated.
