The Lead Teacher shall be responsible to:
* Carry out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement education objectives and performance standards.
* Work with assigned group of children and implement Developmentally Appropriate Practices at all times.
* Supervise the children at all times.
* Facilitate and nurture the development of each child’s self-esteem, trust, and growing autonomy.
* Respond quickly to children’s different and personal needs (verbal and non-verbal cues), temperament styles, abilities, and cultures.
* Document daily individual needs, strengths, interests, service plans, attendance, and meal counts for each child.
* Plan and carry out open-ended activities for different levels of development and multicultural diversity of children enrolled in his/her class.
* Prepare and provide materials that are concrete and relevant to the children’s interests and culture.
* Prepare the learning environment for children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adult caregivers.
* Maintain an ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and learning environment of the classroom in cooperation with other staff, and make suggestions to the supervisor regarding instructional materials and equipment necessary to carry out the program.
* Administer and accurately document initial and ongoing development using screening and assessment tools at established intervals.
* Review and carry out health plans for special diets, allergies, medication administration, etc.
* Partner with parents to develop educational and family goals and update regularly.
* Provide direct supervision, training, guidance, leadership, and technical assistance to assigned assistant teachers.
Conduct periodic observations to evaluate job performance of assigned staff, maintain appropriate documentation, and meet timelines set by the HR department.
* Assist with transition into the program and exiting out of the program.
* Participate in regularly scheduled case conferencing sessions, staff meetings, parent meetings, parent-caregiver conferences, Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) meetings, home visits, in-service training, and other meetings as directed.
* Attend staff and parent meetings, in-service training sessions.
* Plan and implement parent and volunteer participation in the classroom; prepare and distribute notes to parents concerning the instructional program.
* Participate in recruitment of children.
* Continuing education as assigned.
* Registering on the Montana Early Childhood Project's Practitioner Registry if not already registered.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Required Education and Experience:*
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Child Development Associate credential; Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
* Current Infant, Child & Adult CPR certificate and Current First Aid certificate required, but can be completed shortly after hire.
* _*Minimum*_ *two years experience in a licensed early childhood program OR Level 2 on the Montana Early Childhood Project's Practitioner Registry.

* Provide leadership and guidance to assistants and parents.

* Ability to speak before a small group.
* Knowledge of various community resource agencies to support children and families immediate or long-term assistance.
*Physical Abilities:*
* Ability to see at normal distance.
* Ability to hear normal conversations and sounds.
* Ability to use hands and fingers to fill out required forms.
* Ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist, kneel and/or stoop down 75% of the time.
* Ability to safely lift or assist children weighing up to 60 pounds.
*Salary:*
The starting wage for a Montana Child Care Licensing approved Lead Teacher is $16.
50 per hour.
Wage is DOE and will be negotiated.

*Schedule:*
We are looking for someone to join our team from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
This schedule is Monday-Friday.
Hours can be negotiated.
