I have two old 6.
9 core engines that I had to quit driving because they had a blow head gasket or a stuck valve or something.
Never did actually determine what was wrong.
Thought I'd see if they had any value to be rebuilt before I scrap them.
One is a 1983 model, and it almost certainly had a head gasket issue or cracked head.
It is siezed up and there was a gallon of antifreeze in the crankcase when I dropped the oil out of it.
I took the injectors, pump and glowplugs off it.
It was in a truck with a 4 speed manual, and has the thinner flywheel than the ones with a ZF 5 speed.
The other is an 85 or 86 and I'm more inclined to believe it was a valve issue.
It still turns and has injectors, pump and glowplugs.
In other words, the cylinders are not open to the outside world, except thru the intake.
This one has a flex plate and torque convertor, used to be hooked up to a C3.
Make me an offer, I just hate to pull the plug and send them to be scrap metal if somebody could rebuild them.
