Job Description
A local organization seeking a Secretary/Operator to work part-time in Vaughn, Mt; bookkeeping experience required, prefer knowledge of QuickBooks software.
Water and Sewer treatment plant experience is preferred but not required.
Must be willing to complete Operator certifications.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Secretary Duties;
Excellent computer skills with the capacity to promptly learn new computer software programs relevant to the district.
Apply effective customer service techniques; respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a courteous, understanding, and concerned manner.
Ability to count money, make correct change, receive, and apply payments accurately, possess good knowledge of English, punctuation, spelling, and arithmetic.
QuickBooks skills should include preparing statements, receiving payments, accounts payable and accounts receivable, making deposits, maintaining records, and preparing monthly financial reports.
Ability to prepare board meeting packets, attend monthly board meetings, record minutes, creating and post a record of meeting minutes.
Must be capable of operating a personal computer, calculator, photocopier, and miscellaneous office equipment and accessories customarily used in an office environment.
Operator Duties;
Operates and maintains water and wastewater system including servicing of pumps, motors, valves, generators, and equipment
Maintains lift stations
Perform sample collection, preparation, and laboratory testing
Maintain records, perform data entry, and provide detailed reporting
Ensures completion of work assignments within specified deadlines and in compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and procedures
Analyzes and evaluates pump equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and monitoring water operations
Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and infrastructure
Performs facility maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks
Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, clean-ups, pruning, and other typical landscape maintenance tasks
Performs other related duties as directed
Work hours are mostly daytime hours except for monthly board meetings and on-call duty.
Employees on on-call duty may work other jobs during the on-call hours but need to attend to any emergency calls.

A flexible schedule is permitted as long as the work gets done.
