*POSITION: Bookkeeper*
*JOB SUMMARY*: The person in this position is responsible to provide complete bookkeeping services to the YWCA Great Falls.

*JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* *Services:* * Accounts Payable in QuickBooks Online – monitoring and paying all monthly expenses as approved by the Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer * Accounts Receivable in QuickBooks Online * Complete payroll on Tuesday every third week * Reconciliation of all banks, savings, and investment accounts * Prepare all grant financial reports for the Chief Executive Officer * Prepare and submit all MT Board of Crime Control financial reports in the Amplifund system * Prepare financial reports for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors Meetings * Assist Chief Executive Officer in budget planning and record keeping * Make weekly bank deposits as needed * Always keep all records confidential and secure * Work closely with the CPA firm during financial review and Form 990 compilation * Participate in ongoing professional development and training within the field *Administrative*: * Maintains accurate and up to date written files and reports within the parameters set forth by the YWCA Great Falls * Creates and maintains appropriate forms, required documentation, and submissions for taxes * Alerts Chief Executive Officer and others as appropriate to areas of concern * Operates within the philosophical and administrative guidelines of the YWCA Great Falls *General*: * Ensures confidentiality in all dealings with public and program participants * Acts as a positive role model to other YWCA staff members * Participates in performance appraisals as appropriate * Adheres to YWCA policy and procedures * Acts as responsible team member * Demonstrates energy and enthusiasm for work * Displays a neat appearance and competent manner * Performs other related duties as assigned – refer to YWCA Accounting Policies and the YWCA GF Employee Handbook *QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:* * Experience completing payroll * Experience working with QuickBooks Online * Three years’ experience working in accounting at a nonprofit * Must pass a background check designed to protect the interest of women and children served by the YWCA programs *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:* * Thorough knowledge of billing Medicaid and MHSP eligibility and standards * Ability to maintain confidential information * Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other staff, agencies, and professionals in the community * Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals, including board members, employees, and supervisors * Willingness to take responsibility for his/her part in communication breakdowns and to work toward resolution of resulting problems * Ability to successfully offer, accept, and act on constructive criticism * An interest in and respectful attitude toward all people * Ability to understand and work with complex situations * Ability to use a computer and required programs effectively * Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills * Good work habits, including ability to organize and manage time and information *JOB RELATIONSHIPS:* * Directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer * Has daily contact with employees, volunteers, and members * Has contact with staff of other community agencies *LEVEL OF INDEPENDENT DISCRETION, CONSEQUENCE OF ACTIONS:* This person, within the parameters of the YWCA policies and procedures, exercises a high level of independence in decision-making.
Significant errors in judgment may endanger the health and safety of the participants and/or staff and may cause serious financial and/or legal repercussions for the YWCA.
*SPECIAL CONDITIONS:* Essential duties require the following: Ability to sit for extended periods of time, stand, bend, and lift to twenty-five pounds.
Exposure to difficult situations and emotionally taxing client circumstances, including physical aggression, and unpleasant living conditions, may be encountered.
