It also provides easy access when skis are strapped to the sides of the pack.
The top access has a drawstring closure.
The rear access panel is located behind the shoulder straps.
The lid can be removed when not needed and the flap jacket used to seal.
The clips that hold the toplid (or flap jacket) are clipped over the compression straps.
The side compression strap clips over the zipper for the avalanche kit compartment.
Pulling the top lid down tight and sucking in the side compression straps creates a nice sleek package.
The pack has numerous pockets.
Inside the main compartment there's a small zippered pocket against the backpanel that's great for small gear like a lighter, headlamp, etc.
There's also a large zipper accessed hydration pouch.
It can be closed up tight and not interfere with packing.
The avalanche compartment at the rear of the pack has a small gear pocket.
Included is a huge pocket on both sides of the hip belt.
It's great for quick access when out touring such as sunscreen, lip balm, a camera and of course snacks.
The helmet holder is tucked away on a pocket on the lid of the back.
Tabs are provided on the top lid and along the back of the pack providing different helmet carry options: One of the top of the lid, and the other on the back of the pack.
The suspension system is comfortable and secure whether really loaded or carrying just a few essentials.
It holds the pack securely in place on both the up-track and when skiing down.
It features the standard shoulder, armpit, chest, and waist adjustment straps.
Sized for both multi-ski tours and traverses, the Kamber 42 is a great option for someone who likes a few extra bells and whistles.
